Getting the garden ready for the holidays

This weekend I worked in the front garden, it is that time of the year to get the garden ready for the holidays.

Splitting bromeliads is part of the cleaning

This part of the front of the garden needs upgrading but unfortunate my neighbors dogs are using it as their local bathroom.

The butterflies are back for the winter and so are the caterpillars.

The first Brunfelsia flowers of year.

Beautiful! The dogs using that flower garden for an outhouse would make me angry!

I love to see your garden progress especially since we are almost in the same area. My Brunfelsia is also starting blooming just a week ago. I also have some front garden projects in my mind, and hopefully I can get some time soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Looking lovely and happy holidays. I need to get back home and clean up my garden for Christmas!

It seems like there is always a need to clean or freshen up something in the garden, holidays or no holidays. But it’s also true that just like we make a special effort within our homes in preparation for holidays, we are also inclined to do the same in our front and back yards.

As to the dogs, I can’t complain about neighborhood dogs because it’s actually my own who take care of business where I’d prefer that they wouldn’t.
