My Brunfelsia grandiflora is in bloom

Better known around this part as the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Tree. The reason for this name, the flowers last three days and each day a different color.
When I left for vacation last Friday the tree was showing a few flowers, and now is in full bloom, just in time for the holidays.

The Brunfelsia is a great plant for color in winter; it’s quite a conversation piece, with its clusters of three colors of flowers all different shades of purple. When the plant is done with the blooms, the dark green leaves are quite attractive.

What a nice picture! I have a Brunfelsia too, here in Goa, but in a container. It never blooms as lush as yours has done. Maybe, I'm not doing it right. Is it a sun-loving plant? Mine is mostly in the shade. I'll have another look at your lovely plant before I close:)

It is a lovely plant - but be very careful, especially if you have a dog. All parts of the plant are poisonous, and if your dog should try eating, say, a seed pod, that is enough to be fatal.

It is only poisonous if you don't know what you are doing. It is used as an herbal remedy in South America.
