More Sunflowers

Back by popular demand--more sunflowers. Today I stopped by the field of sunflowers and found that they were harvesting the flowers. I talked to the farmer that leases the land and he told me the flowers were sold to a local flower distributor for resale in flower shops.

Well, Rusty, I think you've hit a chord with us northern climate gardeners. Nothing like a sunflower to recall a hot summer day! Beautiful photos, thanks!

They are beautiful. I ordered a dozen of the one time from a popular online flower source. I was sending them to a friend who was in the hospital. They cost $75 including shipping. She was a very good friend.

I have always loved sunflowers...if I had to have a signature flower it would be that! I've given my mum seeds to plant at home in the past but they kept blowing down...any tips with that?

I'm about to embark on my first real trip down the garden lane in the next few wks...mostly veges but lots of sunflowers thrown in for good cheer! So please let me know the techniques from keeping them upright if any!

The sunflowers are really cheerful on this rainy day here.

My daughter is in the art magnet at Coral Reef High School. She wants to paint a field of sunflowers for her art project this summer, but doesn't know where the Doral, FL field of sunflowers is. Can anyone tell us the address of the field?

You can email me a mmdkpryan@att.net,

Thanks for your help.
