RAIN and more RAIN YEAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

We woke up this morning to a cloudy and rainy day; we haven’t had any significant rain since sometime in January. This year once again we are in the middle of a severe drought, so this rain is welcome even if it comes on a Saturday my one and only full gardening day.

The rain barrels are working and full with 100 gallons of rainwater. I can’t believe it took me so long to get them, they are great and I strongly recommended

Flowers on a rainy day.

Rangoon creeper.

Mexican petunias.

Blue daze.
No work in the garden today so I am heading to the garage for a major clean-up.

That was the description of much of my week. But the plants love the rain. So I'm not complaining.

Hi Rusty....we all need rain whether we like it or not....

Water butts are great and a superb addition to any environmentally friendly garden.....

Hope you got the garage sorted.....

I am delighted to have found your blog. I love the color of your home, and your courtyard is stunning. I am just catching up on all your posts and your beautiful pictures.

It is raining hard here right now. The plants love it, but the gardeners are standing at the window feeling left out.

Hi Rusty, we're the same here with rain. We're really far behind our normal levels. Your rangoon creeper caught my eye. I have one here (but started it from seed) and it has never bloomed. Regarding my curcuma, the yellow part is actually the flower and there are usually several of them blooming at a time per plant.

Hi Rusty, hooray for your rain. I did not realize you were in a drought though. The rain barrels are wonderful. We just got our first one and love it. Of course we need a million more to save every precious drop! :-)

We could use the rain up here in Ocala. It has been ages, and I'm not a dependable water-er.
