Bromeliad flowers from the garden

This morning I took photos of my bromeliads. The flowers are a little unusable and not seen in my blog before. As you can see I am moving more and more into the bromeliad world, theses plants fascinate me. My wife gave me a book for fathers day “Bromeliads for the contemporary garden” I can wait to read it.
This bromeliad is the Tillandsia syanea.

This one is the Neoregelia “Purple Star”

Rusty it is beautiul! I am captivated by broms too. They are like addictive - you have one or two and next thing you've got to find a new variety! I bought some nice plants from the local bromeliad society.

Those are great shots, I love the Tillandsia cyanea photo. I have an epiphytic Tillandsia gardneri in my bathroom.

Great looking bromeliads, Rusty. I used to have a Tillandsia cyanea some time ago and am really sad I lost it.

Ha! Funny on Darla's comment. I have a Queen's tears. I like it inside the house in the winter, but it's not doing well outside and I'm not sure why. Your bromeliads are really neat. I find them easy to care for and ever so cool! Way underated. Here in my climate I only bring them in or put them under my house. Enjoy reading that book!

I wanted to say about your rat visitor, he looks like a domestic one that someone maybe let go. Very interesting guy.

Rusty, these bromeliads fascinate me too. They're such pretty flowers that don't really look like flowers! I don't think I have enough humidity to grow them but I'm tempted.

Rusty,
Very pretty bromeliad. They are wonderful plants.

I am a nut for bromeliads. Most of mine are planted right in the ground. I have hundreds of them at the base of my oak trees. The pups are easily divided and moved. I don't know the names of most of them but they are so easy with no maintenance at all! A must in a Florida garden. Enjoy yours and your new book.
