My working vacation – Part II

Today I finished the trellis, I am not all that happy with it, but this is the best my 58 year old body with arthritic hands can do. I had an idea in my head to make a more grandiose trellis with arches and a small wooden fence to divide the courtyard from the rest of the garden. (The mosquitoes and the heat took care of that idea)
Many of you asked about the Mexican flame, well I didn’t take it out; I’m hoping it will grow back. This time, I am not worry how big the vine gets, the new trellis can take it.

The rest of the week, I am taking it easy, I’ll take some pictures, pull some weeds and prepare the garden for our annual family Easter bash.

I think it is lovely Rusty, sometimes our bodies have different ideas than our minds, but this will be perfect. Rest up for the "bash!"

I too think it looks just great. I'm glad to see the Mexican Flame creeper was spared. It does make such a spectacular display. Happy Easter to you and yours.

Great job, Rusty. I saw the photo and was thinking how nice it must be to be a strong guy who can build something like that so easily. Then I read "arthritic hands". Oops. I have arthritis, too, but the Enbrel deals with the pain perfectly. I hope you find a way "to make it go away", too. I'm also glad your Mexican flame vine is still there, and I like your trellis (I would call it an arbor). Very well done. Rest up and have a blessed Easter.

I think your arbor looks great and I bet that Mexican Flame vine with take off and cover it in no time.

Our bodies do let us know that we're not as young as we feel in our minds. All we can do, is keep on doing, taking each day, each project as it comes and do our best.

Have a wonderful Easter.

Your garden is going to be so lovely for Easter! The trellis looks like it can take on that flame vine for sure. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

I think it looks great Rusty, and besides once that flame vine gets big it's just going to swallow it up anyway. Looks like you're getting a lot accomplished on your week off. Have an enjoyable Easter.
