Another dead bonsai
This is the third bonsai that I've killed. I love the art of bonsai but I don’t think it’s for me. Maybe someday when I retire and have more time on my hands.
Hi Rusty......welcome to my world. I love Bonsai and have had around six small trees now.....I have books on them and yet I still cannot manage to keep them and I really don't know why.
I always think it is so sad, it is like losing a piece of art......
My SIL has one...she puts it in the sink, fills the sink up with water over the top of the container and lets the water drain out of the sink Immediately. She waters it like this once a week and it's beautiful.
A fellow down here on Big Pine Key always kept his in a kids pool with water up to the pot rim. He'd yank 'em out once a week for a day and then back in they would go. Great lookin' trees. I'm keeping a ficus benj. that way and so far so good but I feel your pain, bro.

Oh what a pity, Rusty!
It's very difficult to keep a bonsai alive as you have found out. It is an art and you need lots of time and patience to learn to get it right.

I love bonsai too but I've decided the process is just too unnatural to survive at my house, LOL
