Around my neighborhood

The Royal Poinciana trees are in full bloom. This year the trees are putting on a show like never before, I’m told the colder winter has something to do with it.

This park is near my home and is where I bike after work everyday.

The man made lake has a seven mile running and bike trail, and there is a large collection of Royal Poinciana trees all around the lake. Biking this week has been pleasant to the eyes.

Today was a cloudy day, great for biking not so good for photo taking

Gorgeous photo of a gorgeous tree! What a wonderful park that is! The Royal Poinciana is a fave of mine, though they are few and far between in my neck of the woods. I once had one in the middle of my tiny front yard. One day, my husband hung from a low branch, and it just broke right off. Freaked me out, and I decided to remove it due to wind and hurricane risk, as well as fear of kids climbing it. Very sad day. It is a beautiful tree even when not in bloom.

Fantastic photos ... what a lovely park. You've shown off one of my favourite trees ... I have 3 of these growing on my property, but of course, they're not flowering right now as it's our first day of winter.
They always put on such a fabulous show!

Beautiful pictures regardless of the weather! You have such a nice place to bike everyday. We also have so many Royal Poinciana in our neighbourhood, and I can not help saying "Those trees are so beautiful" everytime we drove in the neighbourhood. My boys probabally think this Mom is too obsessed. LOL
