Lenten season is time to prune the trees.

My grandmother and my father always pruned their trees during lent.  The word passed down from older generations in my family, was that the best time to prune trees, was after the first full moon during lent.  I don’t know if there is any validity to this tradition, but who am I to question my ancestors.
Yesterday I pruned the Brunfelsia and Starburst trees, and next week is the Allamanda and Fire Dragon bushes.

Oh that white and purple orchid is pretty! In fact your whole garden looks lovely and colourful. My neighbour always plants out her vegetables on the Easter weekend. some years Easter is earlier than others, but you know she has a wonderful garden,so who am I to argue!

Beautiful plants, Rusty! I love your opening header. Your garden is the best ever. Wish I lived in Miami so I grow some of these beauties as well!!!

Pruning is a year round activity, ya know? Some plants are honestly best pruned believe it or not during the winter and fall.
