I had a chance to pullout this bougainvillea tree when I put the pavers in. For sentimental reasons I kept it, today I regret that decision.
I am not afraid of aggressive vines; I have two others in my garden, but bougainvilleas fight back and I have the scars to prove it.
After, I also cleaned the pavers.

I deleted my comment because I had horrid spelling in it.
I'm getting ready to pull out our bougainvillea, but I keep putting it off,for the same reasons as you.
Love your broms!
I know the feeling when it comes to Bougainvillea. I have the deepest respect for them. You have to build up courage to tackle them. Bon Courage mon ami.
Prune the heck out of it! I heard that the more you stress a bougainvillea, the more it will bloom. And you know it will always grow back
Yep ... know all about the battle scares after a war with Bougainvillea. I'm just not a big fan of them anymore ... had a horrid time with two very large, very aggressive Bougies in my last garden and now I only have one large one way, way out along the fence and two miniatures. Welding gloves ... that's my advice!!
I took two bougies out last year. I do love them, but I knew the location would never work. I've got to find room for one again some day. A big huge spot about 20 x 20 so it can just do its thing. Love your Halloween decorations! Can't believe it's already October!
So sorry to hear about your bougainvillea. I still have scars from my last trim on mine....if you can wrap them up with some wire out of the way or train them on something, I think you may be happier. I hated mine until I started shaping it....now it's starting to become manageable....but just becoming manageable:)It looks healthy.
What a GREEN Treat.... Lovely shots. I am an avid Boungain fan, and am love to grow them on mini walls n as Bonsai's
