This is the courtyard by the front gate, I'm thinking a small bench would look good here
A neighbor stopped by today to trade plants. She wanted some of my bromeliads, and traded this plant, she didn't know the name but the red flowers are gorgeous, they kind of look like hydrangeas.
What is happening to my plants in the front yard? The powder puff tree is looking terrible, most of the leaves are cover with a black soot, and I'm not sure if I should cut most of it or leave it as is.

Too bad about your rain barrel!
Hope your new rain barrel lasts longer than a year...is that black stuff some type of fire blight like pear trees get? It kind of reminds of that....
Gode billeder.
Hvor ser det godt ud i din have.
Sød hund.
Tak for kigget.
sorry about the rain barrel. One of those is on my want list.I love your courtyard!A bench would be perfect.
It's a cute idea for planting vegetables
Oh my, that's a lot of water to rush out all at once. I hope it didn't do much damage. I just have the ugly plastic food-grade barrels and they have held up for several years now.
Maybe your new plant is a glorybower clerodendrum? or pagoda flower clero?
So what kind of rain barrel did you get?
Congratulations on a fabulous website. I am delighted to have found this post.…Plastic Gate Factory
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your blog. The white stuff on your plants looks like the spiraling white fly that I have in my yard in Fort Lauderdale. The white fly has infested my gumbo limbos, coconut palms, white birds of paradise, robellinis and most other plants. Last month I had the trees injected with pesticide to try to contain the problem. As I walk in my neighborhood I see the white flies everywhere.
